The oil (which presents as a solid wax like orris butter), is gentler and creamier than oud oil but still retains all the characteriistic animal power, with fruity facets. This material is absolutely convincing as the much higher cost oud oil in fragrances and if we are honest, it is probably what makes up the bulk of the oud note in premium oud fragrances these days. It is also known to be used to adulterate real oud to attract higher profits. If you are not an expert, it is wise to stick with the oud extracts from prestige houses like Firmenich which supplies our marvellous Bangladeshi \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/fraterworks.com\/products\/oud-assafi\"\u003eOud Assam oil\u003c\/a\u003e, and LMR (maker of this Boya oil) which has an intense but fruitier \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/fraterworks.com\/products\/oud-oil-vietnam\"\u003eVietnamese Oud oil\u003c\/a\u003e. In fact, this boya oil comes from the same source wood as the LMR Vietnamese oud. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNote: This is a creamy, semi-solid wax at room temperature, not a free-flowing liquid, so it needs gentle warming to work with.
