Compound Seven — YSL M7 (2002 Original) — will be launching in late May.

In 2002 the world of perfumery was changed forever when Yves Saint Laurent launched the first western styled Oud fragrance M7 (by Jacques Cavallier and Alberto Morillas under the creative direction of Tom Ford). As shocking as the scent was, the company went further by using a full frontal male nude in its marketing.

The perfume was a masterpiece of perfumery but as so often is the case with fragrances released before their time (think Chanel Bois Noir), it was soon removed from general sale. An attempt in recent years has been made to re-release the scent in a new formulation but that new formula is as bad as the original was great.

Fortunately we are able to offer a compound of the original formula in all its glory. It is Compound Seven and, despite containing all the original materials (including the luxurious woods), it is IFRA compliant today. The original contained a trace of Lyral which we have sympathetically replaced for full EU compliance also.

This compound is ready to dilute and bottle. Just add alcohol.

Did you know?: just 50g of Compound Seven™ and 200g of Deluxe Perfumer's Alcohol gives you everything you need to fill two 100ml (or four 50ml) bottles at extrait strength.

IFRA 51: Coming Soon in finished product (Cat. 4)
    Appearance: Pale straw liquid

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: Coming Soon
    IFRA 49: Coming Soon

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.
