First discovered in 2001 by the same IFF chemist that discovered AmberXtreme, Operanide is one of the most perfect modern amber molecules with a creamy quality nuanced by moss, soft woods and gourmand facets. It is an incredibly diffusive and radiant material which joins the likes of Amber Xtreme, Ambrocenide, Amberketal and others in the radiant amber family, though usable in far greater amounts as it is considerably easier to control. Until recently a captive of IFF.
A simple blend of Operanide and Amber Xtreme results in an accord more elegant, more radiant and more beautiful than either chemical singularly. To that you can add profound fixative qualities with a touch of Z11® MIP (preferable to the HD version). Even a small amount of Operanide adds a lovely creaminess and naturalises blends astonishingly well. It adds varnish to wood materials.
In addition, Operanide blends beautifully with Ambrocenide, Musks Zenolide and Edenolide, tonka materials (for example Florex and Coumarone), everything patchouli (especially Clearwood®), Vetiverol and Vetiveryl Acetate, the Rose Ketones (with olfactorily similar chemicals such as Ethyl Safranate) and the ozonic / marine family (Cascalone, Calone, Maritima, Floralzone, etc).
Longevity: Lasts > 72 hours on a smelling strip.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
