    Habanolide® is considered a metallic or hot iron musk. It is a macrocyclic musk of the highest quality by Firmenich, indispensable and certainly irreplaceable (though Globalide® by Symrise is frequently touted as such). Habanolide® is a radiant musk which adds freshness and vitality.

    Habanolide® has featured in numerous modern scents. The writers of Scent and Chemistry give by way of example Silver Mist (2006) by Alessandro Gualtieri for Nasomatto, in which it makes up 25% of the fragrance:

    250 Habanolide
    250 Ethylene Brassylate
    125 Scentolide
    25 Cashmeran
    10 Exaltone

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA 51: 48%
    IFRA 49: 48%

    Lives up to the hype

    I'm very new to the art of perfumery and I had heard incredible things about Habanolide. I thought I had an idea what hot iron steam might smell like, but it's everything I imagined and more. Definitely musky, steamy, metallic, and warm with a gentle floral aspect. I'm excited to try it out! My order arrived quickly from New Zealand to Canada and was packaged with care.
