Fraterworks' Calabrian bergamot oil is not chemically rectified (a destructive process that wrecks the profile of delicate citrus oils), rather our Italian supplier uses a highly specialised cold extraction process that removed restricted bergaptenes without any damage to the oil. Because of the process used, this bergamot oil remains 100% pure and natural. There is no doubt this is the highest quality bergamot on the market and the closest to the classic pure and natural oil.
Most furocoumarin free bergamot from other suppliers is modified with a chemical process involving caustic soda; as a result the oil is often damaged to a point that while it may still smell of bergamot, it lacks much of the beauty of pure and natural bergamot oil. Furthermore, caustic treated oil should not be considered pure and natural.
You will not find a finer and more true to the classic Italian green bergamot oil than Fraterworks' bergaptene free Bergamot “Superior” Oil. Our oil can't be beaten, and neither can our price!
This was formerly known as Bergamot “Superior” Oil FCF. The name has changed but the product is exactly the same.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
