Aldehyde C-12 Lauric opens with sharp citrus zest on warm waxy paper. Green stem nuances rise alongside leafy herbs, balanced by creamy fattiness that prevents thinness. Within seconds, violet-rose breath emerges whilst the fatty facet turns pleasantly soapy-clean.
You'll find this aldehyde essential for creating classic aldehydic florals where its sparkle makes heavy hearts feel lighter and modern. It excels at brightening citrus openings, making bergamot and lemon more diffusive. Use it at 0.01-0.1% dilution—its power means traces create lasting clean halos without dominating compositions.
Blend C-12 Lauric with rose and jasmine for classic aldehydic bouquets or combine with violet and iris for powdery sophistication. Pair with other aldehydes (C-10, C-11) for the full Chanel effect. This material bridges citrus tops with floral hearts beautifully whilst adding pine-fresh complexity.
Alongside the classic trio of C-10, C-11 Undecylenic and C-12 MNA, this aldehyde was used in the original Chanel No 5.
NOTE: we also supply this aldehyde diluted to 10% in 96% pure perfumer's alcohol. Alcohol is the best diluent for aldehydes as it slows down the degradation process.
C-12 Lauric vs C-12 MNA
C-12 Lauric's straight-chain structure creates bright, zesty citrus-soapy character, whilst C-12 MNA's branched methyl group produces warmer amber sweetness with herbaceous depth. Where Lauric sparkles with sharp citrus-violet freshness ideal for bright florals, MNA offers complex ambergris nuances perfect for tabac and vetiver bases. Choose Lauric for clean brilliance; choose MNA for sophisticated amber warmth.
NOTE: We individually package all powders, high odour or sensitive materials in heat-sealed aluminum bags to prevent cross-contamination and maintain product quality.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
