    Named after the great 18th century naturalist who discovered the flower, Gardenia J. Ellis is a profoundly beautiful representation of the full flowering majesty of one of the most beloved flowers.

    Lactonic, sweet, green and strikingly true to life, this is the finest gardenia base on the market today. Traces add creamy elegance to any multiflor while an overdose gives you a hyper-realistic floral heart.

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    True to Life Replica

    Considering gardenia from enfleurage and the flowers of my own plants,
    this base is a true to life replica of the fragrance of gardenias.
    Highly recommended!

    Spectacular, unbelievable

    My partner's favourite, I try gardenia absolutes and bases whenever I can.
    Of a few dozen I have tried from all over the planet, this is easily the most photorealistic and beautiful. I was taken aback when first smelling - never have I had the pleasure of so perfect and magical a gardenia.
    This base is strong, utterly astonishing in its realness and naturalness, not a hint of chemistry or acridity, I am lost for words. This is what a base should be like.

    I am loathe to say it but I prefer this base to the real flowers I have growing outside.

    "Really Nice"

    Brought this base to a trained perfumer and an amateur perfume maker yesterday. They loved it. We smelled the enfleurage of gardenia at the same time. The base IS definitely different but "really nice" and maybe more realistic! I've found it lasts for days on paper and is lovely and will perfume your room for sure...

    Really does smell like Gardenia

    After trying for 10+ years to recreate the beautiful fragrance of Gardenia I had pretty much concluded that it was not possible to capture those beautiful fresh top notes. But you have nailed it!! Yes, this really is the holy grail of Gardenia :)

    Perfect Gardenia

    This is the gardenia I have been searching for and trying to discern for so many years. I am willing to accept that nothing I produce will compare to Jamie's amazing and lifelike formula, so I shall now just enjoy it and be grateful.
