Why is my perfume weak after adding alcohol?
When you blend your perfume oil (also known as "juice") with alcohol it needs to rest so everything can meld together and the molecules can start performing their magic. There is a bit of a bell curve associated with this; when you first dilute your perfume it will have an overabundance of top note power but longevity will be poor. As time passes (typically about a month) the top notes will settle and the longevity will increase. The ideal time to sell a perfume is when you reach that equilibrium where top notes are as diffusive as possible with the scent lasting longest on the skin. This ideal time can only be determined by experimentation.
How do I make my perfume oil last longer?
Unfortunately there is no holy grail for adding longevity to a pre-made blend (sometimes called a "perfume oil"). Many commercial suppliers of perfume oils use large amounts of diluent to increase their profits. The only real solution is to purchase from a quality guaranteed company like Fraterworks. Here is our range of pre-made fragrance oils.
Why does a full pour weigh less than the label?
Each bottle is filled on calibrated balances to the labelled net weight. When you empty a bottle, a small amount of material (residual hold-up volume) remains on the bottle and closure, so a full pour can read slightly under on your balance. This is normal. To get an exact amount, tare your receiving vessel and pour until you reach the target mass (for example, 50.00 g), leaving any remainder in the bottle for later use.

- Can I attribute Fraterworks in my work?
Can I attribute Fraterworks in my work?
Yes. You may acknowledge that your fragrance incorporates a Fraterworks material, and where relevant you may note the perfumer responsible for the creation of a base (for example, “featuring a Fraterworks base composed by Bertrand Duchaufour”). Any reference must clearly relate only to the raw material and not to the finished perfume itself. Statements implying that Fraterworks or the perfumer co-created, manufactured, or endorsed your fragrance (such as “made by Fraterworks” or “a perfume by Bertrand Duchaufour and [Customer]”) are not permitted.
