Ethyl Safranate is a powerful and diffusive fruity rose aroma chemical this is not exploited anywhere near as much as it should be. Where the rose ketones end, Ethyl Safranate begins. With no restriction at all from IFRA and a scent profile like a more characterful damascone delta meets damascone alpha, this material deserves to be front and centre in more contemporary fragrances.
Blends with Persicol are sublime and exploit its fruity side. Its bashful minty side can be extended and enhanced with touches of Peppermint Oil “Black Mitcham”, or use it to add a sultry Saffron note to a damascone rich rose base. In vanillin base amber accords it can lend a wonderful gloss when dosed correctly.
Ethyl Safranate is indispensable and shockingly addictive.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

“It would be “Damascenone Cyclogeranate.” This is an old product, and along with methylcyclogeranate, the best known of this fam- ily. Ethyl Safranate (Quest) is more spicy-saffron-like than the rest of the related chemicals. It is also more herbal and longer lasting; it has thusly found intensive use. I like its com- binations with lactones and with Neocaspirene (or its constitutional isomers such as Isospirene or Etaspirene), Oxane, Verdox (IFF), Hexyl Acetate (IFF), Labienoxime (Givaudan), Rosoxime and Buccoxime (Symrise), despite that the oximes are absolutely different.
Again I must say that ethyl safranate is a jewel; it is worthless to describe where it has been used and how can be used because I am sure it affects the sense of creativity of every perfumer. Every perfumer treats this material with respect and care.”
