A good perfumer needs one great vetiver oil. This is it; this is the vetiver of renown.

From the very first sniff you will recognise this oil from such masterpieces as Guerlain's Vetiver (2000) and Jean Claude Ellena's Terre D'Hermes (2007) for Hermes.

We refer to this oil as “Bourbon” oil as it is the closest product to the near-mythical vetiver of the golden age, now no longer produced in La Reunion (formerly Île Bourbon) but sourced on the neighbouring island of Madagascar. This is not a blend or derivative product — it is 100% pure and natural vetiver goodness from Biolandes.

Wonderful effects can be achieved with this oil by blending it with our incredible Vetiverol ex Vetiver Haiti.

    Origin: Madagascar and Mauritius
    Variety: Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.)
    Part: Roots
    Method: Steam distillation

Fraterworks® is strictly a reseller of this product and is neither an agent nor official distributor for Biolandes.

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: Unrestricted
    IFRA 49: Unrestricted

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.

My relationship with vetiver has been a short (albeit passionate) one. This is only the third pure vetiver oil I've ever smelled but wow, what an experience this one is compared to the first two.

This vetiver is rich, voluminous, earthy and pillow like, demanding you to take your time with it. I find the experience of smelling it very grounding. I detect none of the course or spikey facets I've smelled in vet before and so far, this has been slotting into my blends with great ease. Recommended with Jamie's vetiveryl acetate for gorgeous vetiver immersion.
