Orbitone® T is the Takasago version of Iso E Super® and it is the closest single product in chemical makeup to IFF's captive Iso G Super®. The key chemical in Iso G Super is called “Iso Gamma” and in the captive Iso G Super there is 15%. Iso E Super® has 11.7% and Timbersilk® (also from IFF) has 13.5% (with a touch of AmberXTreme as a booster). Orbitone™ T on the other hand has a whopping 14.2%. At the other end of the scale, Sylvamber by DRT has the lowest amount at 9.5% but it is often wrongly lauded due to the higher quantity of the other key isomer called Arborone.

Fraterworks is offering this amazing Takasago product for the first time at small retail quantities. We love it and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a variant on the classic Iso E Super profile. In comparison to regular Iso E Super, Orbitone T is more balsamic and creamy. It has an elegance and a sense of space lacking in classic Iso E. It has a more profound transparency and sheerness.

Warning: This is a raw material for the manufacture of perfumes. Do not consume. Do not apply directly to skin. Keep out of reach of children.

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 100%
    IFRA 49: 100%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.

    Fantastic

I love it. IES smells great to me, but has a chemical smell at the end, kind of like Ionone Alpha. I don’t mind the IES chemical smell but I couldn’t detect it in Orbitone, it’s like all the things I love about IES plus a little surprise green hint, and a smooth, rounded, massive odor. Not strong, just massive. Amazing material! So excited to work with this!

The most refined Iso-E Super material

You can appreciate the elegance of this material by comparing Orbitone at 15% to the captive Iso-Gamma Super at 15% (Molecule 01). Iso-Gamma Super smells a bit stronger, more peppery and impure. Stronger yet generally inferior variants like Sylvamber have similar characteristics. Orbitone smells mineralic, smooth, velvety, mellow and less punchy in comparison. This is surprising because Iso-Gamma has previously been the most smooth velvety version. Now the most elegant variant is available for purchase right here! If you're looking to identically clone Molecule 01, I think a 20% concentration blend of Orbitone and regular Iso-E Super would get you the closest.

    Orbitone !

At first i couldn't smell a difference between this and IES but as times gone on and ive used it i find it adds almost a better longer lasting scent to a heavier dosed formula than if you would have used IES

    GREAT INGREDIENT

Performance better than ISO E SUPER in the same wood base formula.

    Top Ingredient!

Although regular Iso E Super is commonly used in large quantities in virtually all types of fragrances, there's a scratchy, metallic aspect to it that doesn't always blend well in certain types of formulations, making Iso E Super not entirely neutral. This issue is greatly reduced with Orbitone T. Compared side by side to the regular Iso E Super, while this one has a metallic edge, which almost feels like an Ionone, scratchy and somewhat more "synthetic", Orbitone, like its name suggests is rounder, with natural woody nuances, suggestive of a good quality Atlas cedar, without its dirty aspects. If you order a sample to try, be prepared to order more soon.
