Heliotrope notes are difficult to obtain within natural perfumery as the high cost and potential misuse of the raw materials put them out of reach of most. That's where our 100% natural Heliotrope Flowers base comes in.

Built around a heart of the most wonderful natural isolates, including the much sought after natural heliotropin (piperonal), with resins, luxurious and costly floral oils and a sympathetic and truly perfumistic approach to natural bases, Heliotrope Flowers is the only heliotrope product you need.

In traces this base adds anisic sweetness, in overdose it is a complete floral bouquet.

IFRA 51: 20.5% in finished product (Cat. 4)
    Appearance: Amber liquid
Longevity: lasts 200 hours on a smelling strip

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 20.5%
    IFRA 49: 10.5%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.

    Sweet vanillic floral beauty!

This is my second review. It is intended to replace my previous one, as I have tested “Heliotrope Flowers natural” again a few weeks later. Apparently, the mixture needed some additional maturation time. In my opinion, the scent has now changed significantly for the better, and I can clearly recognize and understand its similarity to the living plant.

Unfortunately, not my cup of tea

I have been used to the flower scent of Heliotropium arborescens since my childhood. Unfortunately, this blend doesn't really capture the actual scent of Heliotrope flowers in my opinion. I'm struggling for the right words. There are some aspects in this blend which appear wrong or out of place to me - compared to the living flower. There's something weird fresh-aldehydic-citrussy, slightly sour going on especially in the opening. Something I've never smelled in the real flower. But there are also other elements which appear out of place in my opinion, especially if smelled from a short distance. I'm so sorry, but this is just not to my taste, it doesn't tick the right boxes for me to get the impression of real heliotrope flowers emitting their sweet, velvety, powdery and somehow low-frequency fragrance in full afternoon sunshine.

On a side note: although the scent of heliotropine (piperonal) is similar to heliotrope flowers, this molecule doesn't occur in the natural flower's scent. In this regard, it's comparable to hydroxycitronellal which also doesn't occur in the scent of Convallaria majalis blossoms (muguet / lily-of-the-valley).

Thank you for the review Sascha. I wonder if you might be able to determine what may be perceived as the aldehydic note. The formula does have a little touch of sweet orange but barely a whipser. There is a very big dose of orange blossom absolute but nothing else from the citrus family. When smelling it here I get all soft flowers with the heliotrope/vanillin quality one expects from this base. May I ask whether you could re-evaluate now that two weeks have passed just in case it was a fresh batch that hadn't fully settled in?
