    Firmenich's classic Oud Synth 10760 E base has undergone a facelift in order to remove phthalates and furfural for better compliance with customer demands and updated IFRA standards. The odour profile of this new Oud Synth 184007 is very little changed from its predecessor and this is now the only version available from Firmenich.

    In Firmenich's own words: “A reconstitution of agarwood oil. Intensely woody, animalic and reminiscent of vetiver, with sweet balsamic undertones.”

    This is one of those oud bases built around a common blend of natural woods with Ambrinol supplying the animalic element. It is a lovely material that blends well with other Oud products. It can be used to add depth and richness to Givaudan's Black Agar Givco.

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    This base features ambreinol, which contributes an animalic depth and creates a complex woody accord that pairs exceptionally well with other oud-based products. Notably, it works as an excellent complementary material to enhance the depth and richness of Givaudan's Black Agar Givco.

    Among the traditional five flavors of agarwood (sweet, bitter, spicy, sour, and salty), this product emphasizes a balance between sweetness and spiciness, catering to Japanese preferences. In Japanese culture, Oud and Kyara (伽羅) are distinct, with Kyara regarded as the pinnacle of agarwood fragrances, often showcased in prestigious museums. Unlike Oud, which can have fecal-like undertones, Kyara is characterized by a refined and complex aroma, often referred to as "green fragrance" (緑香).

    By blending 山椒 (sanshō, Japanese pepper) and bergamot essential oils, it is possible to replicate the spicy, tangy, and sweet notes of Kyara that are highly favored in Japan. This blend is recommended for achieving a Kyara-like fragrance with a distinctly Japanese essence.

    This base stands out for its versatility as a base note inspired by agarwood. With proper adjustments, it holds great potential for success in the Japanese market.😀
