    Foin Coupé is the scent of freshly mown hay. It is an incredibly diffusive sweet coumarinic base with orange blossom nuances loaded with natural oils, including pure and natural French hay absolute. Use it as a modifier for coumarin or herbal notes, or as a radiant and earthy nuancer for a gentlemen's fragrance.

    Featured in Patou Pour Homme Privé, one of the most highly regarded scents for men gaining a near-mythical status, this fresh cut hay base is sublime.

    We also offer the original crystalline Foin Rigaud — an intensely powerful and penetrating base note product.

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    This is gorgeous, highly diffusive, and packs a punch in small doses in a larger hay accord. Smooth and creamy. Also blends beautifully with tobacco, florals, and pretty much everything. Instant love.

    This is a beautifully diffusive hay base with both green/fresh elements as well as the sweetness of coumarin. Works beautifully in the PPH Prive sample formula provided.

    This is indeed a highly diffusive and quite powerful base. I was a bit puzzled at first, because I expected something more in the direction of real hay or flouve absolute. Foin Coupé reminds me strongly of some traditional English fougère fragrances like Geo F. Trumper's "Wild Fern" or Penhaligon's "English Fern". - To my nose, this base also contains a judiciously amount of salicylates (amyl salicylate, cis-3-hexenyl salicylate or alike) supporting diffusiveness.
