Absolutes & Resins | Rose Collection

    CAS: 8007-01-0
    Variety: Rosa damascena Mill.

The main rose used in perfumes today is from Rosa Damascena. It typically goes by the name of just Rose Absolute (or oil) and the Bulgarian variety is the most common. However, it's lesser-used cousin, Rosa Damascena from Morocco is a somewhat different beast, with a lovely tea rose quality that is lacking in the slightly lower-cost Bulgarian absolute.

The best Bulgarian roses tend to be used for the essential oil which is the most costly of the rose extracts, whereas in Morocco the best roses go to making the absolute. The soil of Morocco produces roses that give a lighter, more nuanced absolute with hints of herbal green and an almost peppery undertone.

Moroccan Rose Absolute is definitely something to have even if you already use the Bulgarian absolute. The differences make both extremely useful for different ends.

Because of the high price of rose products, we also offer this diluted to 10% in odourless Triethyl Citrate which is a completely natural isolate from citrus, making it suitable for natural perfumers.

We also stock Rose Bulgarian oil (otto) and Rose “Signature” Absolute from Bulgaria.

    Origin: Morocco

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 2.75%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.
