Benzoin Oliffac 63 opens with a creamy, vanillic sweetness (almost milkshake-like) that sits deeper and rounder than typical vanilla materials. There's a soft powdery quality underneath, dusted with faint cinnamon and almond nuances. The effect recalls warm resin tempered into something smooth and immediately usable.
This IFF base solves the notorious handling problems of crude benzoin gum—no heating, no filtering, no wax precipitation. It dissolves completely in ethanol and pours cold from the bottle, which saves you time in production. At 1–3% of your concentrate, it adds soft vanillic sweetness without announcing itself; at 5–10%, it becomes the structural backbone of amber and oriental accords.
Use Benzoin Oliffac when you need the classic benzoin character without the laboratory drama. Pair it with labdanum and vanillin for traditional amber structures, or blend with tuberose and jasmine to round harsh indolic edges. Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
