Cyclamen des Alpes was one of two great De Laire bases created around the scent of two varieties of cyclamen flowers. “The wild Cyclamen which grows in Switzerland is called Alpine Violet, and possesses a very delicate and sweet odour. That botanically known as Persian Cyclamen has a somewhat harsher odour.” Cyclamen des Alpes reproduces the odour of the former.
The scent of cyclamen flowers is something of a blend of white lilac, lily and violet flowers (hence its sobriquet) with a suspicion of hyacinth.
This base is enriched with many luxurious floral absolutes and thanks to its delicate nature makes a perfect overdose material for the heart of a novel modern fragrance.
