Damascone gamma smells of rose and cooked apple with ripe plum depth and — distinctively — a herbal, almost wormwood-like edge that sets it apart from its alpha and beta siblings. The effect is fruity, floral, and green at once. Subtle tobacco undertones emerge in the drydown.
Use damascone gamma at trace levels — it is potent and will dominate if overdosed. A tiny amount adds fruity-floral complexity to rose accords, green compositions, and herbal blends. The herbal dimension makes it irreplaceable where you want damascone character with a green, sage-like twist.
Alpha-damascone is sharper and more metallic; beta is the sweetest and most wine-like; gamma brings a herbal-green quality the others lack. Pair it with other rose materials, ionones, and aldehydes. Always evaluate well diluted — its complexity unfolds at low levels.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
