Despite its name, this is not a floral chemical. It's synonym, in fact, gives a better idea of what it is used for: Citrolate. Floralate is a dry bitter-fresh grapefruit material with (as is so often the case with aromatics of this type,) rhubarb nuances. It lacks the juiciness of citrus which makes it an interesting material to take a cologne in a very novel direction.
It is long lasting so it is useful for extending citrus oil (not just grapefruit) into the heart of a perfume. A touch of Nootkatone and a judicious use of vetiver Haiti can further extend it into the dry down.
For stewed fruit accords which may be on the sickly side, floralate can offer a much needed dryness.

Odour Profile: Floralate has a dry citrus character reminiscent of grapefruit pith and bitter orange rind, with green-floral gardenia petal nuances and subtle melon undertones that bridge top notes to heart compositions.
Uses: Creates long-lasting citrus accords, offsets sweetness in orange and lemon oils, essential for modern grapefruit-vetiver compositions.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
