Methyl Heptine Carbonate is one of the nicest of the violet leaf meets melon chemicals but highly restricted by IFRA to 0.047% of a finished product. Nevertheless it has a powerful presence in a blend and even at that low amount is is a wonderful aroma chemical well worth using. We often use it dosed to the maximum and then blended with other less restricted chemicals like Undecavertol and Violettyne MIP which come with lovely tonalities and nuances of their own.
Made famous by its overdose in Dior's Fahrenheit (1988, demo formula below) by Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Michel Almairac and Maurice Roger, this chemical can surprise in a multitude of ways. It is key to the top note of our wonderful Bois de Violette base and we suggest that the unfounded fear of its use could well be preventing a truly magical new fragrance from exploiting it properly within the regulations.
Fraterworks® is strictly a reseller of this product and is neither an agent nor official distributor for Givaudan.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
