Shangralide Oliffac hits you first with a feral, leathery punch - almost aggressive neat, with a phenolic bite that recalls wet animal hide. Give it time and that rawness melts into a honeyed, skin-warm sweetness. The dry-down is creamy, powdery, and astonishingly long-lived on paper and skin alike.
This IFF specialty base is built on a Galaxolide skeleton but bears almost no resemblance to standard white musks. Trace amounts of phenylacetic acid and other animalic modifiers give it a convincingly "biological" character that rounds sharp indoles in jasmine and tuberose, softens synthetic edges in woody accords, and anchors leather compositions with raw-skin realism. Layer it with macrocyclic musks like Ambrettolide for a musk cocktail that has both volume and radiance.
Try Shangralide at low doses to add a living, breathing quality to florals and ambers. Push it higher in leather and oud accords where you want unmistakable animalic grit. Remember that this material transforms radically on dilution — what smells aggressive in the bottle becomes seductive and intimate below one percent.
For a truer-to-nature deer musk base, we recommend Tonkin Intense or Nearly Deer which are built around laevo muscone, the key musk molecule in deer musk, rather than the cheaper Galaxolide and white musks in other third party bases.

General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
