Armenian Wood Base opens with a wave of sweet, resinous warmth — vanilla-rich benzoin interwoven with a soft cinnamic spice and a faint trail of woodsmoke. It calls to mind the experience of burning Papier d'Armenie, that traditional French incense paper soaked in Siam benzoin resin. The effect is at once cosy and quietly exotic.
This is a ready-made accord built around Siam benzoin as its central axis, but it goes much further than a simple benzoin reconstitution. Soft sandalwood and powdery woody notes provide structure, while a subtle animalic funk — likely from styrax-type components and a trace of civet character — gives the base surprising depth and longevity. Reach for it whenever you need instant balsamic richness in oriental, amber, or incense accords, or use it to add smoky sweetness beneath a floral heart.
Treat Armenian Wood as a shortcut to complex resinous warmth. It pairs beautifully with oud, patchouli, and frankincense for dark oriental work, and it will soften and sweeten woody-amber frameworks when used at low levels. A few percent can transform a flat vanilla into something layered and smouldering.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
