REF: 755264Attar Base N.27 is a sandalwood/oud-character carrier — not a neutral replacement like Attar Base N.18, but an active participant in your composition. Where N.18 is designed to disappear, N.27 is designed to evoke the creamy, woody warmth of traditional sandalwood oil at a fraction of the cost.
The result is a carrier that behaves like sandalwood oil on the skin: the slow, radiant diffusion, the creamy warmth, the way it lifts and supports everything blended into it. If you've ever used genuine Mysore sandalwood as a carrier and mourned the cost, N.27 is what you've been waiting for.
Use N.27 wherever your formula calls for sandalwood oil as a carrier or diluent — in attars, mukhallats, and oil-based perfumery of all kinds. It gives you the character of sandalwood without the extraordinary price tag, while also supporting your formula with a touch of natural antioxidant and an antibacterial blend to combat the negative effects of using a dipper which touches the skin and then goes back into the bottle of perfume.
To use, simply add 20% (or more!) of your favourite Mukhallat blend (or oud oil, attars, etc) to 80% of Attar Base N.27. Alternatively use it as an incredibly cost effective sandalwood alternative that will cause any oriental blend to bloom. This can also be used in an alcohol perfume in the same way Sandalwood oil is used.

Once upon a time, an attar was a co-distillation of precious botanical matter, traditionally done using two stills. Nowadays the term has broadened considerably to include blends of plant extracts and aroma chemicals diluted in sandalwood as a carrier oil. Cost and rarity make pure sandalwood difficult to justify, so alternatives are needed.
Fraterworks Attar Bases are designed to be used as ingredients in precious mukhallats (the Arabian term for a blend of naturals and aroma chemicals — in other words, a perfume base) and other fragrance forms. Each Attar Base has different nuances, but the core objective remains: compliance with IFRA and EU regulations at concentrations up to at least 80%.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
