Cosmonex 1485B rebuilds the scent of the Givaudan musk Cosmone (CAS 259854-70-1). With supplies collapsing, prices increasing dramatically and rumours of a complete discontinuation, a replacer base was needed.
Cosmonex opens warm and powdery, a rounded musk threaded with sweet ambergris and the softest clean-skin animalic hum. The impression is elegant, cosmetic, and quietly glowing. It is, in fact, an elegant musk blend in its own right.
Rebuilt one-for-one from rare musks and accessory notes, a trace lends outstanding cosmetic volume and a soft, second-skin warmth to florals, woods and amber accords. Use it to round rough edges, add lift, and make a composition feel finished and expensive.
Cosmone always shone in chypres and fougères, and Cosmonex slots straight into those accords with no reformulating. Slip it beneath white florals for a warm, powdery skin effect, or thread it through citrus and green tops to add body and glow. Even a single drop reads as pure luxury.
Analyses of finished perfumes show how widely the Cosmone character travelled: the musk this base reproduces appears in Chanel Pour Monsieur at around 0.09% and in Serge Lutens Tubéreuse Criminelle at roughly 0.36%. Cosmonex 1485B lets you build that same effect into your own work.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
