One sniff and you know tarragon — a bright, sweet anise that carries a distinctly green, leafy quality underneath. The spiciness registers immediately, warm and herbal rather than peppery. As it dries, a subtle balsamic-woody depth emerges that connects it naturally to base notes.
Methyl chavicol belongs in the aromatic-fougere toolkit. It furnishes that characteristic anise-herbal warmth that sits between lavender and coumarin in classic masculine structures. Combine it with clary sage and oakmoss for vintage aromatic accords, or introduce it into citrus blends where its spicy sweetness adds unexpected complexity.
The anise facet amplifies liquorice quality when you use it alongside star anise materials and anethole. In trace, it steers rose and jasmine accords towards warm spicy territory. You can also exploit its green herbaceous side by combining it with basil ct. linalool and galbanum.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
