METAL OXAZOLE (AKA Sclarene) opens with an immediate dry woody impact that's distinctly different from typical wood notes—there's something almost mineral-like in its presentation. This sclareol derivative doesn't smell of clary sage but rather presents a fascinating herbal-metallic character reminiscent of heated metal or steam rising from hot iron. The camphor facet adds coolness without menthol's sharpness, while earthy-green undertones ground the composition. What makes this material unique is its ability to suggest temperature—it smells warm yet cool, dry yet moist, creating an almost synesthetic experience. At 80% in DPG, this Givaudan specialty delivers consistent, powerful effects. We also offer a further dilution of 10% but note that when purchasing the 100% pure you are receiving the Givaudan standard 80% as it is the only form in which they manufacture it.
Use Metal Oxazole at 0.1-1% for standard applications, though it can be overdosed for unique signature effects. Its primary value lies in enhancement rather than standalone character—use it to add metallic warmth to Ambrofix and other ambergris materials, creating more complex amber accords. As a "musk booster," it amplifies musky notes without contributing its own musk character, adding substantivity and fixation through different mechanisms.
In modern masculine fragrances like Hermès H24, it provides the distinctive herbal-metallic signature that defines contemporary perfumery. The material excels at creating industrial coolness—that elusive quality of steam, hot metal, or mineral water that makes fragrances smell futuristic. Needless to say it is outstanding when combined with the hot metallic blend of Habanolide and Aldambre. Throw in a hint of cinnamon for a glittering combination.
Metal Oxazole occupies a unique position in the sclareol-to-ambergris pathway. While sclareol provides clary sage character and Ambrofix delivers pure ambergris effects, Metal Oxazole offers something entirely different—a woody-metallic bridge with its own distinctive profile. It lacks the sweetness of ambergris molecules but provides complementary effects that enhance their performance. Think of it as the industrial skeleton that supports softer amber notes, adding structure and modernity.
The combination of Metal Oxazole with Ambrofix creates multi-dimensional amber accords impossible with either alone: Ambrofix provides the sweet, warm ambergris heart while Metal Oxazole adds metallic edges and woody depth. Choose Metal Oxazole when you need to modernise traditional accords, add industrial coolness, or create that distinctive "hot metal" signature that defines contemporary masculine perfumery.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
