Spirambrene is a woody and elegant amber material with extremely good diffusion. It ranks amongst the very best of the woody chemicals (with Dextro Norlimbanol, Cedroxyde, Orbitone and others). It is rare to find in small traces but really should be part of every perfumer's palette.

Arcadi Boix Camps in his Perfumery: Techniques in Evolution discusses the chemical: “Spirambrene is a nice, strong chemical with a closeness to boisambrene forte, norlimbanol, cedroxyde and cedramber. It is somewhat more seaweed-like than the above and imparts important velvety nuances to woody notes. Again, I believe it is a chemical that has a bright future in our industry. It is being widely used in fragrances such as Kenzo for Men (0.8%), Eden, Gio (0.85%) and Agua Fresca (0.3%) by Adolfo Dominguez, among many others.”

Givaudan describes it thus: “Spirambrene blends well with sparkling, green, spicy and aldehydic top notes. It is an interesting complement in woody accords for providing a diffusive ambery effect. Due to its high impact, it produces unique and original effects when combined with other woody elements.”

Featured in such fragrances as Duro by Nasomato (0.3%), Enigma by Roja Dove (0.4%), Black Agar Givco (1%), Himalaya by Creed (0.55%),

Blends beautifully with Dextro Norlimbanol, Muscenone, Muscone Laevo, Exaltolide and all the amber chemicals.

Fraterworks® is strictly a reseller of this product and is neither an agent nor official distributor for Givaudan.

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 100%
    IFRA 49: 100%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...
