This is not the classic Aldehyde C-11 Undecylenic as seen in Chanel No 5.
Aldehyde C-11 Undecylic opens with a clean, waxy-soapy burst that immediately evokes fresh laundry and citrus peel. An effervescent orange brightness runs through the middle, accompanied by subtle green and faintly floral undertones. The overall character is brighter and more citrus-focused than the heavier lower aldehydes.
Use this as the aldehydic backbone of citrus colognes and soapy-fresh compositions. It adds instant radiance and diffusion to floral hearts without the green-rose character of its Undecylenic cousin. In classic aldehydic florals it provides the waxy sparkle that lifts an entire composition.
Pair with Aldehyde C-10 and C-12 for a classic aldehydic ladder, or combine with bergamot and neroli for luminous citrus compositions. Always dilute before use, as the neat material is intensely powerful. It blends surprisingly well with musks and woods for clean, modern masculine structures.
Undecylenic vs Undecylic
We also sell the classic Aldehyde C-11 Undecylenic, which is greener and more floral-rose in character. This Undecylic version is waxier, soapier, and more citrus-forward with a clean orange-peel facet. Choose Undecylenic for rose-tinged green lift in florals and chypres; choose Undecylic for soapy brightness in aldehydic accords and citrus colognes. Blend both for a fuller aldehydic effect.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
