Linalool is found in thousands of naturals, including most citrus oils, so it is ubiquitous in scents where it adds fresh top notes. But when you want that lovely scent to dry into the heart of a perfume or need something a little less agrestic, Ethyl Linalool comes to the fore. And better still, ethyl linalool is not an EU allergen and so doesn't need to be declared on the outer packaging of a perfume.
Our supplier, Firmenich, is the premium supplier of ethyl linalool, with its process resulting in a smoother, softer and more floral product than others.
According to Arctander, “This alcohol has been suggested for use in perfume compositions as a modifier for LinaIool with certain advantages over that material. Ethyl Iinalool has a somewhat slower rate of evaporation and is easier to work with, needs only normal fixation, and blends with more materials. It introduces softer, more floral-woody, less citrusy notes, according to the composition in which it is used. Along with Ethyl Iinalyl acetate, it forms a pleasant Bergamot-type background note even in soap perfumes, a combination which is more stable than Bergamot oil itself. The alcohol is also an interesting item in Muguet, Lilac, Lily, Appleblossom, etc. as well as in fantasy creations.”

General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
