Iralia Total smells like opening a vintage face powder compact — rich violet and orris wrapped in a warm woody veil. A creamy floral heart sits underneath, with a subtle raspberry sweetness that surfaces on the dry-down. François Coty built L'Origan around this very note in 1908.
Use Iralia Total as your workhorse violet-orris heart — it gives you the powdery richness of orris butter at a fraction of the cost. It bridges heart and base seamlessly, preventing the abrupt drop-off that plagues lighter florals. Push it to high concentrations where it becomes a dominant structural pillar.
Pair Iralia Total with Hedione for a luminous, lifted violet or combine it with vetiver and salicylates for sophisticated leather effects. Try it alongside damascones for convincing rose accords. Its exceptional tenacity — over 200 hours on the strip — means a little carries a composition for days.

We also sell Iralia, the classic version. Both share the same CAS number and belong to Firmenich's methyl ionone family, but they're tuned differently. Iralia is the refined, more purely floral version — the most elegant methyl ionone Firmenich makes, with a richer orris character, a softer powdery quality, and a subtle tea-like nuance that makes it the fine fragrance connoisseur's first choice.
Iralia Total trades some of that refinement for robustness: a more pronounced woody facet, superior stability in difficult bases, and better substantivity on fabric. General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
