Jasmonyl hits your nose as oily, waxy jasmine underscored by a pronounced mushroom earthiness. It's not a clean, polished jasmine — there's a green, slightly dirty realism here that reads as convincingly natural. That mushroom facet is the signature that makes it instantly recognisable.
Use Jasmonyl to add organic, earthy believability to your jasmine accords. As a blend of two closely related isomers, it delivers both the green mushroom character and the creamy petal quality in one material. This dual nature gives white florals a three-dimensional realism that single molecules cannot achieve.
Jasmonyl excels where you want jasmine that smells alive, not synthetic. Pair it with indole to push animalic depth further, or with Hedione to brighten its heavier facets. Its waxy texture also grounds neroli and orange blossom accords beautifully.
Understanding the Jasmine Pyrans
Jasmonyl belongs to a family of four related jasmine materials. Here is how they differ:
Jasmonyl (Givaudan) is unique — a blend of two isomers that delivers both green-mushroom character and creamy-petal quality in one material.
Jasmopyrane Forte (Givaudan, CAS 18871-14-2) is the pentyl isomer alone: greener, more herbaceous, with pronounced tea and mushroom notes. It is chemically identical to Jasmal (IFF, CAS 18871-14-2).
Jessemal (IFF, CAS 38285-49-3) is the butyl-methyl isomer: richer, creamier, more petal-like, and longer-lasting.
Substituting Jasmonyl with Jasmopyrane Forte or Jasmal alone will push your formula greener and more mushroomy, losing creamy volume. Substituting with Jessemal alone will make it cleaner and creamier, losing the earthy mushroom realism. To replicate Jasmonyl using IFF materials, blend Jasmal with Jessemal.

General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
