CAS: 38285-49-3Synonyms: Jasmelia, Jasmin Pyranol
JESSEMAL® is a powerful jasmine-analog developed by IFF, celebrated for its rich floral depth, smooth diffusion, and subtly creamy warmth. It offers a full-bodied white floral effect—merging the radiance of natural jasmine with a gentle lactonic roundness and a faint fruity nuance that suggests banana skin and fresh petals. Far from astringent or sharp, JESSEMAL® brings a plush, expansive quality to compositions, supporting both delicate and narcotic florals with equal finesse.
Its signature lies not in imitation but enhancement—creating white floral accords that feel richer, longer-lasting, and more complete, while still maintaining a clean, modern profile.
Perfumery Usage
JESSEMAL® performs exceptionally well in both fine fragrance and functional formats, where it lends lasting floral volume and naturalistic radiance. It pairs well with jasmine absolute, elevating it with lift and tenacity, and excels in white floral blends that call for weight without heaviness. Use it at 0.5–5% to amplify jasmine cores, enrich tuberose and gardenia structures, or add creamy realism to blends that otherwise risk feeling flat. In high-pH environments like soaps and detergents, its resilience ensures the jasmine character survives where naturals may degrade.
Performance
JESSEMAL® is remarkably stable, performing well in soap, candle, and detergent systems, and providing excellent diffusion and longevity. It contains no EU-listed fragrance allergens and is readily biodegradable, making it ideal for modern formulations that balance performance and compliance. Its tenacity—lasting up to 30 hours on a blotter—ensures a sustained presence throughout the life of the fragrance, supporting both heart and base with persistent floral warmth.
Background
JESSEMAL® is part of IFF’s foundational jasmine family, derived from the tetrahydropyran acetate structure that reshaped how perfumers build floral effects. While chemically distinct from JASMAL®, it shares the same design vision: to provide a cost-effective, long-lasting jasmine profile with true olfactive richness. Closely related to materials like Givaudan’s Jasmonyl and broader-cut versions such as Jasmopyrane Forte, JESSEMAL® stands out for its polished intensity and versatility. It remains a go-to tool for perfumers seeking fullness, fidelity, and performance in jasmine construction.

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
