Variety: Commiphora myrrha Classification: Base Note[i]
Myrrh Oil is an ancient wonder of perfumery that still captivates the senses today. Sourced from the resin of the Commiphora myrrha tree, this rich oil has been celebrated for its warmth and mystery since the days of pharaohs and emperors. Its aroma is a beguiling blend of balsamic sweetness and earthy richness, with a smoky edge that evokes flickering incense in far distant sacred temples.
In perfumery, Myrrh is nothing short of a cornerstone. Its resinous profile gives fragrances a grounding quality, pairing effortlessly with Frankincense, Patchouli, and Sandalwood. Whether you’re wanting a brooding oriental or a bright citrus-floral with character in the dry down, Myrrh is a powerhouse amongst base notes.
This wonderful material features in Amouage’s Opus VI (2012), Tom Ford’s Sahara Noir (2013), and the iconic Shalimar (1925) by Jacques Guerlain. It is also a discreet but key material in Dior's original Homme (2005).

General Information
General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
