Virginian Cedarwood oil (from the cypress family) is the most versatile and important of the various so-called cedarwood oils (the others being Texas, Himalayan and Atlas, the latter two being members of the pine family and not the cypress family).
It is an excellent extender to Sandalwood oil, Guaiacwood and Oud and owing to its refined and low-key odour it can be used as a wonderful canvas material upon which to build an entire fragrance.
This Payan Bertrand quality is of a particularly fine character, with only the nicest aspects of the oil presenting.

General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
