    Like Aldehydes C-16 (Peach) and C-14 (Strawberry), Gamma Nonalactone has a common name which is incorrect: Aldehyde C-18. Gamma Nonalactone is the scent of coconut and is the most popular basic material used to impart that scent in fragrances.

    With no restrictions on use and a very popular odour profile, Gamma Nonalactone is an essential chemical for perfumers. Very small amounts add a lovely creamy quality while overdose can used for fun effects as evidenced by our Beach Bum scent (free formula further down the page).

    Gamma Nonalactone blends with all fruit materials but also with rich florals like Tuberose and Jasmine.

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
