Rose Oxide (Racemic) opens with an almost aggressive metallic freshness that cuts through compositions like a blade. This sharp, gassy-green character delivers the unmistakable scent of rose stems being snapped in half. You'll recognise its penetrating quality immediately—that bright, almost electrical sensation that makes roses feel alive rather than preserved.
This material transforms predictable rose reconstructions into dynamic, three-dimensional experiences. Use it when you need compositions to project powerfully from the bottle, creating that crucial first impression. Combine Rose Oxide with traditional rose alcohols like citronellol and geraniol to build complexity, or pair it with black pepper for unexpected vibrancy that modern perfumery demands.
Deploy Rose Oxide with extreme restraint—overdosing creates harsh, unpleasant effects that dominate rather than enhance. Working concentrations rarely exceed 1% in your concentrate, with trace amounts often sufficient for remarkable transformation. Its poor tenacity makes it purely a top-note material, disappearing within hours but leaving behind space for your heart notes to bloom.

Rose Oxide comes in three commercially significant forms, each offering distinct olfactory profiles and potency levels.
Racemic Rose Oxide (this product) contains approximately seventy-five percent cis isomers mixed with trans forms, delivering strong rose-geranium character with pronounced metallic-green edges and good diffusion.
High Cis Rose Oxide elevates cis content above ninety percent, resulting in cleaner, brighter red rose character with significantly reduced metallic sting—it's easier to dose and exceptionally diffusive.
Laevo Rose Oxide isolates the pure minus-cis isomer, offering unmatched potency (one-hundred times stronger than racemic) with softer, more radiant floral character, enhanced greenness, and sublime diffusion—though its extreme strength and premium price make it challenging to work with for everyday formulations.

General Information
Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
