    Made in collaboration with Jean Claude Ellena when he was head of perfumes at Hermes, this wonderfully rare pepper oil is quite a surprise. With hints of styrax (and other balsamic notes on account of the material containing cinnamates), a coriander seed quality and a touch of grapefruit, this is a versatile and useful product and extremely beautiful.

    Recently discovered by perfumers and gastronomes alike, the French eat the Nepalese spice with Foie Gras where its pomelo and candied lemon nuances complement the unctuous texture of the goose liver. And being a close relative of the Sichuan pepper makes it a suitable alternative to that popular spice also.

    General Information

    Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

    All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    Very special, as would be expected from a JC Ellena project.
    To my nose opens with slight muskiness similar to long pepper, but is not especially peppery to me.

    Really quite magical. Citrus notes are dominant to my perception, and astonishingly tenacious. Drydown is strong citrus to my nose, with a really pleasing and persistent and clean zing.

    Overall to my nose gives a yuzu-grapefruit floral coriander seed impression.
    Sublime.
