A thick, honeyed amber opens with warm balsamic sweetness before revealing a smoky leather undertone and faint olibanum dryness. The overall impression is of something ancient and precious — amber that glows rather than shouts. Viscous and deeply comforting on the blotter.
Where labdanum absolute can overwhelm a formula, this extract channels the same raw material into a more refined, focused amber impression. Oriental accords take on a darker, more sensual foundation. Your leather and incense compositions gain a complexity from this extract that sets it apart from standard labdanum absolute.
Low doses in a chypre or fougere furnish amber warmth without tipping the balance. Go full oriental by stacking it with benzoin resinoid, vanilla absolute, frankincense and myrrh for a sacred resin effect. The smoky-sweet facet also grounds oud compositions that need a softer anchor.
Owing to its thickness we sell this pure and diluted to 50% in natural TEC, making it easier to use when working in natural perfumery.
NOTE: This is a specialty extract of labdanum by Biolandes and should not be confused with Ambreine Samuelson (and the natural variant of the same) which is a historic base of citrus, resins and vanilla.

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.
All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.
