It is almost impossible to put into words how truly incredible this Lavender “Signature” Absolute is. This is so rich it is a solid mass, not a liquid. There is not a single bad note here, just 100% pure lavender. This is so universally loved by our staff that we keep a small container in the laboratory so we can have the pleasure of smelling it through the day.

We have tested many lavender absolutes from all the top French houses and this is not just better than everything we sampled - this is better than anything we ever imagined possible with a lavender product.

A single sniff transports you to the middle of Provence where the scent of lavender soaks the air. This absolute is rich with notes of dried fruits, tonka beans and herbs.

There does not exist under the sun a more profoundly beautiful expression of French lavender.

Pair this with Lavender “Avice Hill”  (nourished by the glacial waters of the Southern Alps), our exquisite small batch Lavandin, Grosso Oil, and the classic De Laire Foin Coupé base for a truly sublime fougère.

NOTE: this absolute is extremely thick (to a point of being nearly solid) but can be added directly to your fragrance compound as-is. To bring it to melt point a fairly significant amount of heat is required. For that reason we also offer it at 50% dilution in a blend of 50% lavender absolute, 30% Triethyl Citrate Natural, and 20% Benzyl Benzoate Natural. This creates a viscous but pourable solution making it far easier to work with than pure.

We also stock a beautiful practically colourless lavender absolute.

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 0.17%
    IFRA 49: 0.17%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...

    For Trade Use Only

Our products are intended as building blocks in the perfume creation process; they are not to be applied to the skin undiluted.

These raw materials are for use by the perfumery trade only.

excellent material, see dark purple color when smelling, sweet finish, coumarin-like, combines very well with cocoa notes and coffee.

    Memories of France

One of the most evocative scents for me was that of a soap: Roger & Gallet's Savon Lavande. This superb quality product, which I'm sure was loaded with the finest oils and concretes, was sadly discontinued in the 1970's, replaced by a modernised version. Smelling the faint odour which still remains in the one or two bars I managed to preserve, still brings back memories of my youthful travels in France. Despite strenuous efforts to find something similar. I have never quite got there. This absolute, however, comes pretty close. I have yet to try it in combination with the LMR "signature" oil. That may well do the trick.

    Lavender heaven

I’ve already had the pleasure of smelling this truly amazing lavender absolute. As a hardcore fan of lavender raw materials, I can confirm everything Jamie has written. Yes, it’s a solid mass and intensely colored, but the smell… pure lavender heaven. Dreams of coumarinic-sweet, soft, and multi-faceted lavender come true when smelling this absolute!
