    Essential Oils

    CAS: 8016-88-4
Variety: Artemisia dracunculus Classification: Heart Note[i]

Tarragon oil is a wonderful herb with a distinctive anise note. It is indispensible in Chypre fragrances and was found in the original (formula below). Our signature Hungarian tarragon is lively and fresh; a must have oil.

According to Steffen Arctander: “Tarragon (estragon) is a colorless, or very pale yellow to greenish-yellow liquid, with a sweet-anisic, green-spicy, slightly celery-like odor, very similar to that of the fresh herb.

Tarragon (Estragon) is used in perfumery, usually in trace amounts, in Chypre, l’Origan types, Fougères, lilac bases, green floral bases, etc.

Blends well with galbanum, lavender, vanilla, cardamom, clovebud, oakmoss.”

    General Information

Like most suppliers and makers of quality raw materials for fragrances, we do not filter many of our products. This ensures that no odiferous matter is lost prior to use but can result in the appearance of small particles or slight clouding.

All alcoholic fragrances should be macerated for up to a month and then chilled in a moderate freezer overnight before being filtered fine. This will remove all cloudiness or detritus and is the industry norm.

    IFRA Standards

    Permitted amounts in finished product:

    IFRA 51: 0.018%
    IFRA 49: 0.525%

These are derived from calculated concentrations which do not replace chromatographic quantification on individual lots. Disclaimer...
